L´Impressario is a comic Singspiel written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and with the German libretto by Johann Jüngere, an Austrian theater impresario.
Mozart wrote this little opera for a competition with his great rival, Antonio Salieri in 1786, at the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, organized by the Roman Emperor Joseph II, which Mozart lost!
Very few times it is played and according to research done we think it is the first worldwide arrangement for band.
It is not very normal for the bands to play Mozart´s works for their sonority, however, in this arrangement, we thought to be able to not discharacterize their style, even having "opened" the work for the whole formation and have included percussion.
It can be done without percussion, only with the timpani part that are obligatory.
